Emergency Relief Rehabilitation and Development Agency (ERRADA) is a non-profit non-governmental Organization established by the Sudan Council of Churches (SCC) in 1997, ERRADA is humanitarian wing of Sudan Council of Churches. It was officially registered with the government department Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC) in 1998 on federal level to operate nationwide in the areas of emergency, relief, rehabilitation and development. Now 25 years since its establishment, with its Vision, Mission and policies,  ERRADA works in  the delivery of integrated social and development  services including Basic health care, Nutritional services,  control of communicable disease, HIV/AIDs awareness, Support of Basic education, Disability awareness and Self-Advocacy, Gender base violence ,  livelihoods and food security, women empowerment through IGAs and other capacity building, Peace-Building and Conflict resolutions, Youth empowerment especially in Darfur and emergency preparedness and response, access to safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion.

Objectives

The overall objectives of the Emergency Relief, Rehabilitation and Development Agency shall be:

  1. To establish an effective integrated non-governmental organization governed by a wellrepresented Board of Directors from local communities, CBOs and related local partners.
  2. To strengthen cooperation and collaboration within the Sudanese Communities and CBOs, and to promote the development of their institutional capacity to deal with development activities.
  3. To provide emergency relief, rehabilitation and resettlement; and to support socioeconomic development plans, projects and programs related to assistance of the needy and physical handicapped/ PWDs.
  4. To develop, strengthen and maintain emergency preparedness and response capacities of local partners and CBOs.
  5. To develop and strengthen functional learning system that can promote quality, financial management, efficiency and effectiveness in programs delivery of ERRADA and its partners.
  6. To promote, facilitate and support rehabilitation and development activities in the areas of food security, health care, water and sanitation, education, livelihood, community development, women empowerment and other services by CBOs aimed to improve the socioeconomic conditions of the communities in the project areas.
  7. To advise and support the local partners/CBOs in their projects and programs which aim at the institutional development.
  8. To establish and promote partnership between ERRADA, other actors and the international humanitarian organizations.
